Hot, hot, hot!

Gypsys Melting Pot‘s photo

Thank goodness for a fresh hair cut to keep me cool.  It doesn’t look as though we are in for any breaks in this heat for a while yet.

I can only get the dogs to out when they are absolutely desperate to go.  When I came down yesterday morning both of them were sacked out on the couch and had no desire to move even an ear.

The Curmudgeon is going a bit stir crazy but he’ll survive.

You all have a good one and keep yourselves and your pets cool!

Cleaning spree?

One advantage to this miserably hot weather is that I am inside in the AC and bored enough to finally get my bedroom clean from top to, well… almost the bottom.  I still need to do the floors.

Then I need to clean the hall, bathroom, stairs, living room, and kitchen.  Yeah.  No.  I’m not that energetic.  It may or may not happen.  I will be wheezing for a few days as it is because of all the dust I stirred up already.

Off for a hair cut later today.  I can’t wait.  I am going to have my stylist cut it as short as possible.  She balks, but my hair grows so fast I do not need it too long within a couple of weeks especially if this heat keeps up.

The Curmudgeon skipped his shot this week.  With this heat I can’t blame him.  The shot makes him weak enough as it is and with the addition of the heat and humidity there’s no telling how he would be.

You all have a good one.

HPIM2937     Air conditioning iz good!  I stayz cool wif my Daddy!

OMFG! This is way too hot!

93 degrees with 83% humidity is not proper summer weather for Pennsylvania!  Argh!

After midnight and we have 80 degrees with 83% humidity.  You have to be kidding me!  No!  No!  No!  What the heck happened to our mid eighties with low humidity and dropping down to  mid to high sixties at night?

Jeez, this has to stop.  I can’t get any yard work done and it is beginning to look like a freaking jungle out there.  HEEELLLLP!  The plants are taking over!!!

You can’t breathe outside, the air is thick enough to cut a slice and chew it.  The dogs don’t want to take more than three steps into the yard to pee and then dash back in to flop in front of the AC.

You all have a good one.

New addition to Casa Doggonedmysteries…

HPIM3142     Lily Rose arrived Saturday.  She had to fend off Patty’s attention within minutes.  Patty was strictly told no, no, bad dog, she is Mommy’s!!!  Going to have to keep an eye on that pup.  Gavin has ignored Lily Rose.

Sunday I took Lily Rose over to meet G and Barry.  Barry is not with us much, his medications knock him out.  Our dear friend is down to less than 120 lbs, he is frail, very weak, and now on liquid medications because he can’t swallow pills.  Therefore, I was tickled when he smiled at Lily Rose.  It’s the first reaction I’ve had out of him in weeks.  Even the Hospice nurse was pleased he reacted.  Please keep him in your thoughts.

Keep your eyes on the blog, you never know where Lily Rose will go next….

You all have a good one!

Whew, made it to the weekend!

It has been an exhausting week around here.  I hope next week is less tiring.  Even the dogs have felt the stress and have been angels.  They know when The Curmudgeon is having a bad day and they try very hard to not make too many demands.

However, as soon as The Curmudgeon is feeling better they do take advantage.   They were not angels today.  That’s okay though they needed to raise a bit of hell if only to get me laughing.

I plan to take advantage of some quiet time and sneak in a little reading.

You all have a good one.

Heat? What heat? Oh, you mean outside!

Go outside?  In this heat?  No Mommy we’d rather take up the entire couch and soak up the air conditioning.

HPIM2503

When we’re not taking up the couch, we are wrestling with each other…inside.  We still don’t want to go out unless we have to go.

No, we don’t want to go out.  We’re fine snoozing under the AC.

No, that’s not dirt on my feet, it’s bruises.

I swear I have targets painted on my feet lately.  Not a day goes by without Gavin or Patty tramping on them.

Yesterday Gavin jumped up the couch to sit with me and somehow landed on my foot, twisting three toes almost to the breaking point.  OUCH!  An hour later Patty stomped on the top of the same foot.

You would think that was the end of it, right?  You would be wrong.  Gavin got me three more times on the same foot.  Patty got me twice more on the other one!  I think they aim for my feet.  I can almost hear them keeping score.

Yet, I still wear my flip-flops because I can’t stand wearing shoes for more than a couple of hours.

You all have a good one.

I’ve said this before…

You can keep the Southern heat and humidity down South if you please.  I prefer the low humidity and cooler temperatures we should have here.  If I wanted this weather, I’d move South…you don’t see me packing do you?

The heat is The Curmudgeon’s enemy.  He doesn’t function at all in it.  Even his ice vest wouldn’t have helped yesterday.  I am glad we have the AC for his sake.

Even the pups are spoiled. When it gets hot here, they want to splay out in front of the AC and only go out when they NEED to go.

You all have a good one and keep cool!

Not a dog for everyone

My doctor has his own emergency clinics.  This is a good thing because they take you as a walk in any time during the day and up until eleven at night at the one we tend to go to when we need urgent care.  When I show up there, they will ask us what the dogs did this time…

As Bull Terrier owners the need for urgent care comes up often.   You never know when one will knock you over and cause you a sprained something or other.  When they wham you with their cement block heads a broken nose, a black eye, or even a concussion is not out of the realm of possibility.

My dogs have managed to sprain my ankles, wrists, and shoulders.  I have skinned knees, fallen ass over tin cups, and I am covered with bruises from them on a daily basis.

These dogs are not for the faint of heart.  They are definitely not for everyone.  Don’t let their looks and company manners fool you, they are an army of Ninjas out to wreak havoc on humans.

If you take a lovely day and mix it with two bored dogs, their bored momma, add a hula hoop, and a bag of treats, what do you get?

We start a new week and a new month

We had a lovely drop in temperature and humidity last night.  Soft cool breezes had me turning off the AC and opening the doors and windows.

The pup’s newest collars arrived.  I love https://www.facebook.com/pages/Collar-My-World-Custom-Collars-and-Accessories/399914493430389  Diana makes the best collars!

HPIM3020

I don’t think I’ve ever had more than one collar per dog at a time this is very nice to have several so I can switch them.

You all have a good one!
